Where did it all start?
When competative soccer in high-school became unaffordable, I turned to the most affordable option: running outside. Little did I know what path this would lead me down. I began to ask myself, "How can I become a better runner? How can I increase my pace? Can my performance improve with a change in diet?" I began to love the feeling of a getting good sweat and the rush of endorphins after a long run. 4 years later, I moved from running a mile every morning to training for my first marathon around south Lake Tahoe. It gave me the stamina to learn to push myself beyond what I thought possible. Our bodies are incredible. Fueling is so important for not only improving performance but overall health. Imagine how you would perform as the best version of yourself?
Ever since trying to improve my performing abilities, I have been obsessed with all things nutrition. From counting macros to juicing for an entire week, I have enjoyed experimenting in all "diets", but what have I found? Everything in Moderation! Coming from a family with diabetes, celiacs, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and various allergies. Each one of us is unique and deserve to have our own diet tailored to us.
How did I get here?
Raised in the East Bay, I felt at home commuting to San Francisco State University's Dietetic Program. 4 years later, enriched with not only academic knowledge but also work and volunteer experience, I have only grown more excited for future opportunities in the field of Dietetics.
What are my goals?
First, I must finish my final year in the SFSU Dietetics program, get my Dietetic internship, and pass the R.D. exam! After that, I would love to further my education by getting my Masters while working in the field.
As not only my obsession but also profession, I love the variety Dietetics has to offer whether it be in the hospital, community, home-operated business, or even social media. You can find me running up the stairs at John Muir Hospital to talk to a patient or creating some a brand new recipe at home for my next social media post.
There are endless opportunities that I can't wait to experience and learn from.
